Indigo Denim 1880 Heavy Leather Bound Jumper Lot 2213 Unwashed

It was 150 years ago, on May 20, 1873, that Levi Strauss & Company obtained a patent for a method of using metal rivets to reinforce the pockets of clothing.’’ A year later, on August 25, 1874, Greenbaum Brothers, also located in San Francisco, received a patent for reinforcing stress points with leather. Until the 1890s, when the patent for rivets expired, Greenbaum Brothers pants and shirts were supplied as durable workwear throughout the mining–rich West and Midwest. Greenbaum Brothers will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2024. Here is a recreation of one of their original 19th century designs.
